There are around 30 remedies manufactured by
Nelsons or Weleda which are sold by Boots and other pharmacies and health food
stores. These are among the most widely – used homeopathic medicines and may
safely be tried for the common acute conditions for which they are sold. They
can be very effective in the short-term and you may find one that really suits
the kind of condition you typically get in which case they are perfectly safe to
use. It is important to remember however that while the worst that can happen is
probably that a particular remedy isn’t right for you and it doesn’t work,
it’s then tempting to assume that you’ve tried Homeopathy and found it
ineffective. Obviously that isn’t the case, your problem would probably
respond to the correctly chosen remedy, but it would be hard to be specific
enough with the brief description of symptoms indicated and the correct remedy
may well not be among the very limited range on general sale. There are hundreds
of remedies commonly in use by homeopaths but it takes some skill to identify
the right one! In any case, if you have a chronic condition which has no natural
tendency, unlike, say, the common cold, to resolve itself over time, you will
definitely have to consult a Homeopath to find a constitutional remedy to suit
you as well as the disease. |
